Mike Parsons - Managing Trustee/Director
Mike worked for eighteen years as a biochemist before founding Freedom Church in 1994 and is currently part of its eldership team. He was involved in setting up the original Freedom soup kitchen in 2000 and helped develop this into the Prepared 2 Progress project the original drop-in centre and structure day program. He became a trustee of House of Heroes in 2000
Phil Sobey - Trustee/Director
Phil has worked within the electrical industry for over 30 years. He has always been involved with supporting people with life controlling issues on a voluntary basis but this work has escalated over the past 2 years. He is now a trustee of the Ovis Farm Project - House of Heroes, and heads up a weekly soup run in the centre of Barnstaple. Whilst committed to supporting individuals in their current situation, his aim is to enable progression towards a more stable lifestyle utilising training programmes, encouragement, advice etc.
Nigel Harris - Trustee/Director
Nigel became a trustee of the House of Heroes in the latter part of 2010. His work within a Christian organisation began as a consultant to restructure the charity known as Freedom Social Projects; his role was to review the strategic direction and implement change.
He has a background of management consulting, senior management in marketing and product development as well as owning and running a small business. Nigel is Director of Freedom Social Enterprises looking at both developing and enhancing services, fundraising and all things legal and commercial.
